- The purpose of this study is to know an indicator of the character of the spirit found in the student book the 7 events of life’s course on IPS lesson materials. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data taken in this study is the content of the character of the national spirit in the sentences contained in the student books on IPS materials. The source of the data in this study was the student book of class V curriculum 2013 with the theme of 7 events in life. Data analysis technique is done by means of data reduction, data display and conclusing drawing/verification. The results of this study are the indicators that appear the most in student books are the fifth indicator, namely the enthusiasm in igniting the spirit of nationality and the least indicator that appears is the third indicator, which is admiring the large diversitarge diversity of languages in Indonesia. The conclusion of this study is an student book 7 events in life to 6 indicators and found 47 sentences from subtheme 1 to subtheme 3.
