This research was conducted in SMA
Negeri 1 Surade with 78 students as research subject (40 students in the experiment class and 38 students in the control class). This research using Quasi Experiment method with Nonrandomized Control Group pretest-posttest research design. The instruments that are used are pretest and posttest in the form of a description of 12 essay questions, as for questionnaire to know the student
response to learning process. The results showed that this Group Investigation model influences the achievement of student problem solving abilities. The result of t-test calculation data value of N-gain problem solving test is obtained Thitung (0.05) = 2.85> Ttabel (0.05) = 1.99. Because Thitung (0.05)> Ttabel (0.05). Then the N-gain difference showed significantly different result.
