- There are many changes that happen during the menopause. One of them is anxiety which is caused by a thought of living in elderly, and it will cause light anxiety, medium anxiety, high anxiety, even up to panic level if improperly treated. The research was aimed at identifying the effects of health enlightenment towards the anxiety level of 40-50 year old mothers in RW 03 Gendingan Ngampilan Yogyakarta Year 2008. The method applied in this research was pre-experiment with the design of one group pre test – post test, and the samples were 30 respondents. The technique of sample used total sampling, and the data collection method was through questionnaires. The result of the research indicated that the significant value was (p) 0,000 which was smaller than 0,05. It meant that there was an effect of giving the health enlightenment towards the anxiety level in facing the menopause. The suggestion for the nurses in the community health center in Ngampilan is, in order to improve the maternity nursing on the mothers with menopause by giving health enlightenment especially on the menopause, so that the knowledge level of the menopause mothers on the menopause can be improved and the health level in the their regions can be always improved especially for menopause mothers.
