  • A lesson plan plays a crucial role in the learning process. Especially in the 21st century, students must be able to master competencies that are integrated with 21st century skills. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of the lesson plan appropriate in the 21st century by connecting on several indicators. Using qualitative, involved three steps of R&D method and literature review, the study relied on diverse articles and book resources as data sources and involved several phases of choosing, reviewing, synthesizing, writing, and elaborating review about the characteristics of 21st century lesson plan. The analysis was carried out by looking at the relevant keywords from the research questions that reveal essential areas; lesson plan, 21st century skills, teaching, procedure text, and speaking skills. The revealed area which played as the study's findings was analyzed as attempts to develop characteristics and develop lesson plans that are appropriate for the 21st century.
