- In this 21st century the teacher’s efforts in teaching English speaking has the important role in our life, by having good spe21st-century the students will be able to communicate each other and develop them to be wise speakers both in the class and daily life. This aim of this research is to find out the teacher’s effort in preparing 21st century of speaking materials in senior high school. The type of this research was qualitative. In this research, the teacher of MAN 1 Indramayu were as subject of The research and the sources of data. The techniques of data collection used were interview, and literature review. The result of this research show the characteristic of speaking materials and the efforts of preparing speaking materials with the four points such as linguistics supports, content and based effective supports, skills supports and diversity and flexibility.
