- Lesson plan is one of the important elements used by teachers to carry out the learning process in the classroom The purpose of this research was to analyze the weaknesses and shortcomings of the available lesson plans related to teaching about procedure text, then develop a lesson plan to teach writing procedure texts for the twelfth graders of senior high school. The research used a qualitative approach with research design was Research & Development (R & D). It applied the Borg & Gall model. The procedures were research and information collecting, planning, and developing a primary form of product. The research used documentation as a method to collect data. Then, the documentation was analyzed using document analysis. The results showed that in Lesson Plan 1 there are weaknesses and shortcomings in 27 of the 73 indicators analyzed. While in Lesson Plan 2 there are weaknesses and shortcomings in 31 of the 73 indicators analyzed. In addition, there are several components that must be included in a lesson plan. The researcher used the components of the lesson plan from Minister Education Number 22 Year 2016 to make the lesson plan.
