  • Foreign investment inflows increase in recent year. Globalization has an impacts on the capital flows of muslim countries foreign investment in the world. Foreign investment impacts toward to the development of domestic capital market and brings benefits to the host country. Foreign investment helps to improve economic output by making the process more efficient. In this context, investment inflows are a broad term which includes foreign direct investment (FDI) and foreign portfolio investment (FPI). Therefore, this study examines the efficiency of the host country using time series data on the 2 ASEAN muslim member countries from 2008-2017. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is used for analytical method, focusing on technical efficiency. The result shows that foreign investment in ASEAN muslim countries inefficient during 2008-2017.
