  • The objective of this research was to get empirical evidence of the effect of using Picture Series on students’ writing of descriptive text at the second grade of SMPIslamiyah Ciputat Tangerang Selatan. The sample of this study were 40 students, which were 20 students as experiment class and 20 students as controlled class. The method used in this research was a quantitative method. The design used was a quasi-experimental study and the instrument of this research was test that consisted of pre-test and post-test form. Based on the results of data analysis from pre-test the average of study result gained in tests with the average value was 50,30 and the average of study result gained in post-tests was 72,64. Whereas in post-test of after applying Picture Series enhanced 22,34 point from pre-test. The calculation of this research was conducted by using SPSS 22. From this research findings, it showed that Picture Series had a large significant effect on students’ writing of Descriptive text.
