- This research was aimed to get the empirical evidence about the effect of K-W-L on students’ reading comprehension of hortatory exposition text at the eleventh grade students of SMAN 10 Kota Tangerang Selatan in academic year 2017/2018. This research design was a quasi-experimental design and the population of this research was the eleventh grade students. The sample was 70 students which was chosen by using purposive sampling technique. The instrument of this research was test (pre-test and post-test). The data from pre-test and post-test was analyzed by using t-test analysis and cohen’s d for the effect size. It resulted that the post-test score of experimental group has p-value 0.040 with significance level of 5% with 0.5 as the effect size that ranged in modest level. This proved that there is a statistical significance in the post-test result or could be concluded that K-W-L strategy was effective on the students’ reading comprehension of hortatory exposition text with a modest level of significance.
