- vii ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of inflation, the deposit interest rate, and the amount of profit sharing mudaraba deposits to total deposits at Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM). The data used in this study are monthly data from J anuary 2008 to December 2012 taken from various sources. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis using the computer program SPSS version 19.0 and Microsoft Excel 2007. The results showed that together (simultaneously) the independent variable s (inflation, interest rates of deposits, and the amount for the deposit) would significantly affect the number of mudaraba deposits. Sig. < α (0,000 < 0,05) and F count > F table (43,313 > 2,758). Individual (partial) variable infl ation has a negative impac t to the amount of mudaraba deposits as indicated by the sig . < α ( 0, 003 < 0, 05) and t count < t table ( - 3,163 < - 1, 671) . T he deposit interest rate variab les have a negative impact to the number of mudaraba deposits, as indicated by the sig . < α ( 0, 000 < 0, 05 ) and t count < t table ( - 6,522 < - 1, 671) this is because the customers of Islamic banks also saw interest rates on bank deposits that are considered to be more profitable if the conventional of the results given the Islamic bank customers switch to save their money. While the number of variables for the depo sits has a positive impact to the number of mudaraba deposits , as indicated by the sig . < α ( 0, 000 < 0, 05) and t count > t table ( 4,802 > 1, 671 ) this is because if the raised fund is bigger, then the result will also be advantageous.
