- Amnion membrane of placenta has been known as biological dressing since locally it can stimulate wound healing especially for collagen formation, new epitelization and neovascularization. This experimental studies was done using amnion membrane which was processed into amnion cream, and applied to 24 wistar rats abdominal wall incision wound. The healing was assessed with macroscopic and microscopic evaluation. One group was given two percent amnion cream and other group received amnion lyophilized sterilized radiation. Measures for macroscopic changes were time of wound healing, sign of local infection and alergic reaction while for microscopic evaluations were degree of collagen formation, degree of new epitelization and number of neovascularization. There was no significant different of macroscopic and microscopic evaluation of wound healing which detected after 14 days operation by applying both type of amnion (P>0.05).Keywords: amnion cream, collagen tissue, wound incision
