- Introduction: Immunization is the most effective strategy to decrease morbidity and mortality inchildren. Vaccine effectiveness is maintained by the application of proper vaccine storage according to the cold chain guidelines. All health-care workers who handle vaccines should know the standard procedure of vaccine storage and put them into daily practice. This study aims to determine the correlation between knowledge and attitude of midwives in private practice on the practice of vaccine storage.Methods: An analytic study using a cross-sectional design was conducted at private practicemidwives in Bandung from January to April 2012. The sample consist of 90 midwives. Correlation between knowledge and attitude of the midwives on vaccine storage practice was analyzed using the Pearson correlation test.Result: A significant positive correlation was found between knowledge and vaccine storagepractice (r=0.611, p<0.001), as well as the one between attitude and vaccine storage practice(r=0.623, p<0.001).Conclusion: The higher the knowledge and the more positive the attitude of the midwies, the better vaccine storage practice gets in private practice midwives.
