- Introduction: The purpose of the study was to evaluate the reduction of intraocular pressure(IOP) by a single-session 270° selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) in glaucoma patients.Methods: This was a retrospective study of POAG, hypertension oculy in Indonesian subjects. All glaucoma eyes underwent SLT to reduce IOP, and 50-70 nonoverlapping pulses were distributed around 270° in the trabecular band. A comprehensive eye examination was performed, and IOP was measured up to 1 year. The successful outcome was defined as an IOP reduction e”20% or IOP less than 21 mmHg from baseline with/without glaucoma medical medication.Results. A total of 56 POAG eyes met the inclusion criteria. The mean ± standard deviation of IOP in baseline was 19.5+6.4 mmHg and at the end of the follow up was 13.8+3.5mmHg (p<0.001). Statistically significant differences in success rates were observed which 29.20% of IOP was reduced from baseline. SLT was done as primary treatment in 23 eye eyes, meanwhile 33 eyes were treated as an ajuvan. More successful SLT treatment in primary intervention compare to ajuvan.Conclusions. 270-degree SLT is useful in lowering IOP in glaucoma eye, with more successful as primary treatment.
