Surowono memiliki tiga situs sejarah peninggalan kerajaan Majapahit yakni candi, terowongan dan 2 sumber air. Saat ini sumber air digunakan sebagai kolam pembibitan ikan dan kolam renang (yang dikelola oleh Dinas Pariwisata kabupaten Kediri), namun kolam renang ini menuai banyak kontroversi dalam sudut pandang Arkeolog karena menghilangkan situs-situs sejarahnya, sedang dua situs yang lain masih belum dikelolah dengan baik. Oleh karenanya dengan adanya Museum Agro-History ini diharapkan bisa menjadi salah satu upaya dalam hal pelestarian benda cagar budaya, selain itu adanya museum ini untuk menginformasikan bahwa di desa Surowono merupakan desa yang sangat masyhur dengan perikanannya yang mana dibalik kemasyhurannya terdapat sejarah yang melatarbelakanginya.

Peran Bhre Wengker I atau Wijayarajasa (Raja yang didharmakan di candi Surowono)dalam kerajaan Majapahit merupakan landasan utama dalam tema Historicism Architecture yang nantinya diimplementasikan kedalam rancangan. Penerapan tema ini diharapkan menghasilkan rancangan yang memunculkan tentang kisah Bhre Wengker I, sehingga nuansa kesejarahannya masih tetap terjaga.

ENGLISH:

Surowono has three sites of historical relics of the Majapahit Kingdom i.e. temples, 2 tunnels, and water sources. The current source of water is used as a fish nursery ponds and swimming pools (run by the Tourism Office of Kediri Regency), but the pool is reaping a lot of controversy in the viewpoint of Archaeologists because it eliminates the historical sites, the other two sites are still not well managed. Therefore by the existence of this museum agro-history expected to be one of the effort in terms of the preservation of cultural heritage objects. In addition the existence of this museum is to inform that in the village of surowono were villages that are very popular with fisheries and underlying history.

The role of Bhre Wengker I or Wijayarajasa (king which is laid at the temple surowono ) in of majapahit kingdom is a cornerstone of major in the theme of historicism architecture which will be implemented into particular design. The application of the theme is expected to produce the design which rise the history about Bhre Wengker I.
