- Every profession with any type of work definitely needs professionalism work as a volunteer, nurse, firefighters or counselor. That job is not easy because everyday they are always confronted with people who are experiencing severe problems or disaster. Some people they help are often traumatized because of the disaster or painful experience. For these professions, the term vicarious trauma is not a stranger anymore. vicarious trauma is individuals trauma reactions because exposure to clients traumatic experience. Counselor, volunteer, nurse and firefighters more vulnerable to experiencing this. The methods used in this study is a qualitative phenomenological methods, where this research aims to find out what are the factors affecting the emergence of a vicarious trauma and how they face that condition.
