  • University as a center of excellence has a big responsibility on improving thequality constantly, and at the same time also required to get prospective students. The high competition between universities lead the universities to always improvethe competitive advantage that is demanded by the public. Since 2005, Bogor Agricultural University has implemented major-minor curriculum at the undergraduate program. The curriculum has several advantage, but also facing some serious problem on its implementation, especially in scheduling the program. This problem affects many others aspect, students could not take the maximum courses between minor and supporting courses. The aims of the research are; 1) evaluating the implementation of major-minor curriculum system at Bogor Agricultural University undergraduate program, 2) identifying factors which made the implementation of the program ineffective and 3) designing an optimal strategy for major-minor curriculum. The method of this research using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Factors that affect the implementation of the major-minor curriculum system were analyzed using Analytical of Hierarchy Process. The expected solutions from this method are a hierarchy of factors that affect the implementation of the major-minor curriculum system. Based on the priority scale, factors were chosen from the greatest value to a lower value. This research is also try to find another alternative strategies that could optimize the implementation of the major-minor curriculum system in undergraduate Program at Bogor Agricultural University, based on the priority scale. The results shows that factors which were effected to the implemetation of major-minor curriculum on undergraduate students were 1) the availability of lecturers who had high commitment and competent 2) the availability of facilities and infrastructures 3) the availability of class schedules which could accommodate the student who chooses minor course, and 4) the availability of academic information system based on information and technology. The strategy for optimizing the implementation of major-minor curriculum on undergraduate program at Bogor Agricultural University based on priority are: 1) upgrading competency and commitment of lecturers and staffs, 2) increasing the commitment of department and faculty to facilitate minor curriculum schedule, 3) providing adequate facilities and infrastructure for supporting major-minor curriculum, and 4) providing the schedule of minor curriculum which are appropriate with the student’s choices.
