  • According to the vision of Musi Banyuasin Regency to realizationalize the prosperous civilization, one of the action plans in the agriculture sector of Musi Banyuasin Regency’s development program, as an effort to anticipate food supply to meet the need of the regional and non-regional people, is to develop a modern agricultural system we call agrotechnology park. A plan to found agrotechnology park is initialized with commodity selection which will be developed on the basis of agricultural potentiality data and the selection of the location according to the basic concept of spatial order in the area of Musi Banyuasin Regency. This study was aimed to make a formulation and estimation of resources needed, to analyze the non-financial feasibility aspects, and to make an initial design (non-physic design) of the founding of the agrotechnology park in Musi Banyuasin Regency. A descriptive approach and quantitative analysis was used as the study approach. Primary data was collected by direct interviews with the experts. Secondary data was collected by a public literature study and government literature study. The Project Breakdown Structure (PBS) Method was used for allocating the activities, the responsibilities and the project resources. The initial study of feasibility was done on the non-financial aspects which covered the market and marketing aspect, technique and technological, and the human resources and organization management aspect. The study results showed that on the initial phase Muba Agrotechnology Park (MATP) will develop intensive system feedlot, palm oil and rubber tissue culture breeding, and patin fish culture and frozen filleting. The selected location for MATP is Sungai Dua Village at Sungai Keruh Sub-district. Studies on the market and marketing aspect showed the very good market potentiality for the commodities developed in MATP. Studies on the technique and technological aspect showed that the recommended technology could be applied. Studies on the human resources and organization management aspect give a recommendation about the labor needs and the MATP organizational structure. In the future, the agrotechnology park area development was expected to function as a profit center for the regional government and training center for the regional people. A deeper and comprehensive feasibility study was expected before the project could be realizationalized.
