  • This research employed reading test as the instrument of data collection. The result of this test was used to assess to what extent Predicting Strategy can improve the students’ reading comprehension. After several meetings, this research found out the use of predicting strategy was significantly effective to improve the students’ reading comprehension. Based on the findings, the writer concluded that the second year students of MTs. Aisyiyah Sungguminasa Gowa could develop their reading comprehension using predicting, by the result of this research was (1) the mean score obtained by students through pre-test was 32 and post-test was 45 (2) the t-test value was higher than t-table(11.63 > 2.045). It means that this was a significant difference between the result of the students’ pre-test and post-test. Therefore, hypothesis Hθ was rejected and H1 was accepted.
