- This thesis studies about analysis of Frustration-Aggression at Domestic Violence in E.L James novel “Fifty Shades of Grey”. The thesis aims at analyzing the kinds of aggression in domestic violence and describing the causes of aggression in domestic violence in the novel. The writer used frustration-aggression hypothesis to find the kinds of aggression in domestic violence and describe the causes of aggression in the novel. The writer used note taking as the instrument. Along this instrument, the writer read the novel, and then took note cards to analyze the kinds of aggression in domestic violence the novel, after that the kinds of aggression were written down on the card and the writer classified the kinds of aggression in domestic violence and described the cause of aggression in domestic violence expression from the novel. In this thesis, the writer found three kinds of aggression in domestic violence in the novel. Those are physical violence, sexual abuse, and emotional abuse. Physical violence is intentional use of physical force potentially caused injury, harm, disability or death. Sexual abuse is controlling what the victim feels diminished or embarrassed. Emotional abuse includes verbal abuse such as yelling, name-calling, blaming and shaming. Then the writer also described the frustration which is the factors that caused aggression in domestic violence expression that carried out by author in the novel. This thesis implicates to inform people how kinds of aggression in domestic violence have become variation in the work. Besides, this thesis can stimulate the students of English Literature to learn more about aggression in the society through literary work.
