  • This thesis is a research about the analysis of implicature through the conversation in Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy. The objective of this research is to find out the kinds of implicature used in Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The data resources of this research is the novel Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead which was published in 2011, and some books were used to analyze and support this research. In collecting the data, the writer used note taking as the instrument. The writer used Grice’s theory to analyze the implicature contained in the novel. In this research, the writer found that there are two types of implicature found in Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy They are generalized conversational implicature and particularized conversational implicature. The writer found that generalized conversational implicature occured 10 times and particularized conversational implicature occured 10 times too. The implication of this research is to give understanding on the term of implicature to readers whom would like to know more about it.
