  • Wireless sensor network consists of spatially distributed autonomous devices that use sensors to monitor physical or environmental conditions. Acknowledging the capability of wireless sensor networks, a sensor network also faces several challenges including its quality of service issues. In order to excel in terms of QoS, a sensor network must implement a suitable routing protocol. This research is initiated to analyze the performances routing protocols against certain parameters through extensive simulation. With the aim to continue improving the research in the field of wireless sensor network, specifically in its routing protocol In this research, two hierarchical routing protocols in wireless sensor network will be simulated and the results will be further analyzed. The performance analysis will be based on the parameter of deployment area, number of nodes and the algorithm of the routing protocol, consisting of LEACH and PEGASIS routing protocol. The QoS metrics that will be analyzed are the network lifetime (in duration), packet delivery ratio and throughput. Based on the simulation, the result of the simulation will prove which routing protocol is suitable in certain criteria of deployment, including the node density or scarcity and the largeness of the area
