Developing an expert system to identify risk level of dental diseases using fuzzy inference system with Tsukamoto Method

  • Many people have problem with their dental condition, and also many of them don�t know about the problem that affect their dental, with the lack of knowledge about that they just ignoring their dental disease, therefore the dental disease can leads to become more worse even can causing another dental diseases. Therefore in this research want to develop an application that capable to identify the dental diseases of the user in order to gives an information about the diseases that affect their dental, also to encourage them to treat it, by making an application base on Expert System that employs human knowledge captured in a computer to solve problems, the author using Fuzzy Inference System with Tsukamoto method as an application of Expert System to make the application, by the uses of fuzzy set in this method implementation this application expects not only can identify the dental diseases by �positive� or �negative�, �yes� or �no� but can give more information such as �positive with 60% risk level� this because fuzzy set can represent membership value within 0 to 1 such as 0.6, 0.8, not like crisp set that only represent membership value with 0 or 1, this application created by using PHP as programming language and would be in web base application. The application using question-answering as the way to do interaction with user in order to get the data about user dental condition. In this research the author is using Waterfall model for developing the application because the characteristic of the software application is small project and the data is well defined
