- The objective of this study was to find out whether cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) method influence towards student?s reading skill. This study used pre-experimental method and one group pre-test post-test design for the design, so only one class used. The sample of this research was 29 students at the second of SMP IT Al-Matiin in South Tangerang of the 2012/2013 academic year. The technique used in collecting data was test, which were multiple choice reading tests and writing test to measure the understanding of students towards text, as one of CIRC method?s steps was writing several things related to a text. The data were analyzed by using t-test formula. Based on the result of statistical calculation, it was obtained the value of to (t observation) was 9.77 and the value of tt (t table) from df (28) at significance level 5% is 2.05 and at significance level 1% is 2.76. It indicated that t0 > tt or 9.77 > 2.76 > 2.05 or (2.05 < 2.76 < 9.77). Therefore, from the data, it can be inferred that the score of to was higher than tt. In short, the Ho (null hypothesis) which said that cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) method does not influence students? reading skill was rejected. Finally, it can be concluded that cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) method influenced students? reading skill.
