- Unfulfilled psychological needs in foster children, such as foster children's needs for love and attention, will make them difficult to control their emotions and behavior. The psychological state of the foster children will also have an impact on their social life. The purpose of this study is to find out whenever a foster care child is comfortable and safe with the substitute caregiver/parent, how they respond to the caregiver/substitute parent and how the caregivers play their role as parent in shaping the psychosocial condition of the foster child. This research was conducted using a descriptive method with quantitative approach. The number of population in this study was 97 boys. Meanwhile, the number of samples was 67 respondents determined through simple random sampling technique. The data techniques used in this study were questionnaires, observation and documentation study. The measuring instrument that researchers use in this study is a measuring instrument developed by researchers using an ordinal level of measurement. In measuring the validity of the measuring instrument used in this study is the validity in advance. While the reliability test, the researcher did the 10 respondents with the alpha value of 0.896. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive statistics. The results show that the psychological condition of the respondents is 70.43 percent, the psychological condition is 63.12 percent, while the social condition is 63.28 percent.
