Tuberculosis (TB) is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This disease is one of the top ten most prevalent diseases in the world. In 2014 Indonesia (with 0.38 to 0.54 million cases) ranks fourth after India, China, South Africa. In the city of Palu, pulmonary tuberculosis among the top ten highest hospitalization disease in 2014. In the RS Anutapura Palu, categories of TB patients are treated is productive age 15-55 years, this is what lies behind the authors to conduct research related to the characteristics of the disease Tuberculosis age productive in inpatient hospital Anutapura Palu 2014. Method. The study design was descriptive with a retrospective approach is to observe the characteristics produkrif Tuberculosis patients in inpatient hospital Anutapura Palu period from January to December 2014, using medical records as the primary means of data collection. Sampling in this study using consecutive sampling technique. Results. The statistical results processed by computerized statistics program. The result showed 158 samples that meet the criteria of a total of 509 samples, which show the highest number of TB patients is the age group 35-44 years and 45-54 years (18.9%) and the lowest is the age group 15-20 years (5, 6%). Most patients with male sex (60.7%). Symptoms experienced include fever (29.1%), cough (75.9%), shortness of breath (50.6%), chest pain (13.3%), malaise (87.3%). Laboratory test results obtained smear-positive (62.0%) and negative smear (37.9%). Keywords: pulmonary tuberculosis, M. Tuberkulosis (TB) disebabkan oleh Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Penyakit ini merupakan salah satu dari sepuluh penyakit terbanyak di dunia. Pada tahun 2014 Indonesia (dengan 0,38-0,54 juta kasus) menempati urutan keempat setelah India, Cina, Afrika Selatan. Di Kota Palu, TB Paru termasuk dalam sepuluh penyakit rawat inap terbanyak pada tahun 2014. Di RS Anutapura Palu, kategori pasien TB yang dirawat adalah yang berusia produktif 15-55 tahun, hal inilah yang melatarbelakangi penulis untuk melakukan penelitian terkait karakteristik penyakit Tuberkulosis Paru usia produktif di ruang rawat inap RS Anutapura Palu tahun 2014. Metode. Desain penelitian bersifat deskriptif dengan pendekatan retrospektif yaitu mengamati karakteristik pasien Tuberkulosis Paru produkrif di ruang rawat inap RS Anutapura Palu periode Januari-Desember 2014 dengan menggunakan rekam medis sebagai alat pengumpulan data yang utama. Pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik consecutive sampling. Hasil. Hasil statistik diolah dengan program komputerisasi statistik. Hasil penelitian didapatkan 158 sampel yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian dari total 509 sampel, yang menunjukkan pasien TB terbanyak adalah kelompok usia 35-44 tahun dan 45-54 tahun (18,9%) dan yang terendah adalah kelompok umur 15-20 tahun (5,6%). Penderita terbanyak berjenis kelamin laki-laki (60,7 %). Gejala yang dialami berupa demam (29,1%), batuk (75,9 %), sesak napas (50,6 %), nyeri dada (13,3%), malaise (87,3%). Hasil pemeriksaan Laboratorium didapatkan BTA positif (62,0%) dan BTA negatif (37,9%). Kata kunci: TB Paru, M. Tuberkulosis, BTA, Tanda dan Gejala
