  • One of the effective strenght in islamic basic school management and has an important role and great responsibility in improving teacher performance is the leadership of the headmaster and work of the teacher motivation. The principle of leadership is the behavior of the headmaster who is able to initiate new thoughts in interaction process on the islamic basic school by making changes or adjusting the goals, vision, and mission of the islamic basic school. Leadership behavior is a specific behavior of a leader in directed coordination and improving teacher performance. The motivated work on the teacher has different strengths, so the most powerful motive is the motived which is the main reason for behavior. Thus it can be seen that motivation can be sourced from within the teacher itself (internal / intrinsic motivation) and can also come from outside the teacher(external / extrinsic). This research discused the problems, among others: how are principals' leadership behaviors, teacher's work motivation, and teacher's performance in Bulakamba district, Brebes Regency? Is there influence of the principal's leadership behavior on teacher performance? Is there any influence on teacher’s work motivation on teacher’s performance? What does principals' leadership behavior and teacher’s work motivation simultaneously influence teacher performance? This research used quantitative research. The data collection method used questionnaire. Data was collected from 69 respondents, namely Basic Islamic school in Bulakamba District, Brebes Regency. The data analysis method used linear regression. From the results of the research, respondents answers regarding the principals' leadership behaviors of 78.70% was in the good category, the teacher's work motivation of 80.01% was in the excellent category, and the teacher's performance was 80.01% in the 78.56% category well. There is an influence of leadership’s behavior on teacher’s performance with a contribution of 55.0%. There is an effect of work motivation on teacher’s performance with a contribution of 44.1%. And there is the influence of leadership behavior and work motivation simultaneously with a contribution of 80,4%
