  • The career choice of accounting students is influenced by several factors such as financial rewards, professional training, professional recognition, social values, work environment, and job market considerations. Factors that influence the selection of student career selection are interesting things to study because by knowing the factors that influence, it can be seen why a person chooses the career. The purpose of this study was to determine perceptions of financial rewards, work environment, labor market considerations, personality, professional recognition of male and female accounting students. This type of research is descriptive quantitative, because the method of data collection uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale measurement. The collected data will be processed using descriptive statistics. Data collection is done by directly distributing questionnaires to respondents who have been determined by researchers. The research environment of this study is a noncontrived setting or real environment. The researcher determines the unit of analysis, which is the individual of each respondent. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis, hypothesis testing, normality test. The results showed that there were differences in perceptions about financial rewards, there were differences in perceptions about the work environment, there were differences in perceptions about labor market considerations, there were differences in perceptions about personality, there were differences in perceptions about professional recognition among male and female accounting students at Wiraraja Sumenep University in choosing career as a public accountant.
