  • The implementation of the MEA that has been ratified by the Indonesian government in 2015 makes the workers must be able to adapt to jobs in ASEAN. But this is not comparable to the number of professions that exist in Indonesia while the number of adults increases. If it continues to be left will have an impact on the sustainability of the workforce in Indonesia in the future. This study aims to determine the factors that influence career selection to become professional accountants in the face of the ASEAN Economic Community. This research is a quantitative study with an empirical study approach. The data source used primary and the method used is the questionnaire method. The data collection technique used is Convenience Sampling with a total sample of 126 students at Airlangga University and Surabaya State University. The results of this study indicate that there is influence of students in their career selection in terms of professional awards, financial awards, personalities. While professional training, social values and reference groups have no effect on career selection by students. Keywords : career selection, professional accountant, asean economic community.
