- The objective of this research is to get an empirical proof about the ability of earnings and cash flow to predict future cash flow. The type of data used are secondary data from manufacturing companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2009-2011. The method used in the selection of objects in this study was purposive sampling. Analysis model used in this study is multiple regression analysis model performed with the aid of the computer program SPSS version 16.0 for Windows. The results were as follows: (1) significant earnings for the prediction of future cash flows, (2) significant cash flow for the prediction of future cash flows, (3) cash flow has the best ability as compared with cash flow for the prediction of future cash flows, (5) simultaneously earnings and cash flow have predictive ability for future cash flows.
