Students Speaking Anxiety Found in Speaking Activities (A Case Study in The Third Semester Students of English Education Department UIN SMH Banten)

- This research is about students anxiety found in speaking subject in The Third Semester Students of English Education Department UIN SMH Banten. This research has aimed to investigate kinds of anxiety the students experience in speaking English on third semester students E class, factors of students anxiety in speaking English on third semester students E class, and how the student overcome their in speaking anxiety on speaking activities. The researcher used qualitative research method. In collecting the data, the researcher used observation, questionnaire, and interview. From the data analysis, the researcher found some conclusion of students speaking anxiety at the third semester English education department of UIN SMH Banten as follows: The researcher found that most of students state they anxious when they learning speaking subject because the student difficulties about grammar, pronunciation, lack vocabulary. The students afraid of responses such as being laughed at when making mistakes, and they are more afraid of when the lecturer asks to explain thing of subject using English unexpectedly. Majority of students English education department the third semester E class UIN SMH Banten experience anxiety GAD (General Anxiety Disorder), Panic disorder, Social Phobia, and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Students overcome their anxiety in speaking activities with imagination, like tree or animal not human, watching more western films seeing how they express it, take deep breath, instill confidence that they can, handle all of the material.
