- Iyas Sutini (161230023). The Development of Pocket Book as a Learning Media to Increase Students’ Understanding about Personal Pronoun (ADDIE Model at SMPN 26 Kota Serang (R & D). The objective of this research is to find how to develop English learning media in the form of a pocket book on Personal Pronoun material and find whether student understanding can increase after learning English using this pocket book. The research is done at SMPN 26 Kota Serang. This research used Research and Development (R & D) using ADDIE model which include 5 phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation; and used n-gain for knowing the category of increase of students’ understanding. The validity of learning media was validated by material expert, media expert and English teacher. For knowing the increase of students’ understanding, the writer used pre-test and post-test to 20 students of second grade. Data obtained from the questionnaires and test were analysed by descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The level of the validity of the Pocket Book according to the assessment was: 1) by the material expert, the mean score was 4.2 with category “valid”, 2) by the media expert, the mean score was 4.7 with category “valid”, 3) by the English teacher, and the mean score was 3.79 with category “enough valid”. The average students’ score was increase from 41 to 64.5. Based on the analysis of N-gain values obtained 0.4, it is concluded that the pocket book can increase students’ understanding about Personal Pronoun material in medium category.
