This research is a pragmatic study on maxim violation and politeness principle in communication done by the actors in the movie entitled “Frozen II”. This research was to find out the kinds of maxim violation and politeness achievement in communication of Frozen II movie done by the actors. This research used a qualitative method. The data source was the conversation of the actors in the movie script. The data were collected by watched the movie as much as eleven times and continued with note-taking technique then they were classified and analyzed. The results of the research show two important points. First, there are four kinds of maxim violation which used by the actors. The writer found 18 utterances. They are: Violation of quantity maxim 10, violation of quality maxim 3, violation of relevant maxim 2 and violation of manner maxim 3. Second, there are six kinds of politeness achievement which achieved by the actors. The researcher found 21 utterances. Due to 3 double politeness achievement, the number accumulated from 18 into 21. There are: Tact maxim 10, generosity maxim 3, approbation maxim 3, modesty maxim 2, agreement maxim 2 and sympathy maxim 1. The result of this research would be helpful for the reader in giving understanding about maxim violation and politeness principle and also would be used as reference and information for other writer which the same focus.
