- The research investigates Exploring English Teachers‟ Strategy i n Teaching Vocabulary where applying different strategies in teaching and learning process is not an easy way for some teachers, especially the s t rategy in teaching vocabulary . This research investigated teacher behaviours, lesson delivery and sequence of content, and learning expectations used by English teacher at Junior High School Sekolah Umum Berbasis Islam (SUBIS) Jiput - Pandeglang. This resear ch brings broader understanding of strategies for teaching English vocabulary. The statements of the research are: (1) What strategies do the teachers use i n teaching vocabulary ? (2) How are the strategies implemented in th e classroom situation? The object ives of the study are: (1) To know strategies that the teachers use i n teaching vocabulary . (2) To know the strategies that implemented in the classroom situation . This research employed a qualitative case study design, because this study is to observe and to explore a phenomenon in real life situation. The result of this research revealed that the teachers have use d teaching vocabulary in three learning stage s: incidental learning, explicit instruction and independent strategy development . It also revealed that in general. The students‟ response to their teacher was good enough to the teaching and learning process (pay attention response) , they using cognitive and metacognitive strategies in their learning .
