The Effectiveness of Listen-Read-Discussn for Students’ Reading Comprehension at The Second Grade of Junior High School Al-Khairiyah Pontang Kab. Serang

- This research investigates the effectiveness of listen-read-discuss for students’ reading comprehension. The research conducted based on statement of problems, 1) how is the students’ reading comprehension skill? 2) how is the effect of using Listen-read-discuss strategy? To answer the questions, the researcher collects data from 60 students pre reading in to classes, one class as experimental class and another one is control class by using quasi experimental class method. The population is students at Second Grade of Junior High School Al-Khairiyah Pontang , and the researcher takes the sample from VIII B class as experimental class and VIII A class as control class. Since the research used experimental method, the data was gathered through pre-test and post-test. The result of the research shows at the value t0 is 3.44 the writer compared it with tt (t table) both in degree significance 5% and 1%. Therefore, to:tt = 3.44 > 1.67 in degree of significance 5% and to:tt = 3.44 > 2.00 in degree of significance 1%. The statistic hypothesis states that if to is higher than tt, it shows that Ha (alternative hypothesis) of the result is accepted and H0 (null hypothesis) is rejected. It means that there is significance influence of Listen-Read-Discuss strategy for students’ reading comprehension
