  • This research is aimed to describe how can peer tutoring technique be applied in teaching reading comprehension; to find out students understanding on reading comprehension before and after the use of peer tutoring technique. Method used for this research is experimental with two classes, called experiment and control class using pre-test and post-test technique. This research involves 60 student as sample among the second class of SMPN 3 Cikande as population. The result of the data analysis is using t-test, the value of tobservation is 6,02 with degree of freedom 58. According to ttable is significance level of 5% is 2,00 and significant level of 1% is 2,66. After that the writer compared the data with ttable both in degree significance 5% and 1%. Therefore to:tt = 6,02> 2,00 in degree of significance 5% and to:tt= 6,02>2,66 in degree significance 1%. Tois bigger than tt, it means there is significant effect of using peer tutoring techniquue in teaching reading comprehension especially on description text.
