- This research investigates the effectiveness of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL); Duolingo Application to Improve Students’ Vocabulary. Specifically, it is written in the v title of this research paper. This research is aimed for finding out the student’s vocabulary of the second grade of SMPN 2 Kelapa Dua who use Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL); Duolingo Application to improve student’s vocabulary; finding out students’ vocabulary of the second grade of SMPN 2 Kelapa Dua who do not use Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL); Duolingo application; and knowing whether the students’ taught through Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL); Duolingo application have much new vocabularies than those who are taught through non Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL); Duolingo application. Method used for this research is quasi-experimental research with two classes, called experimental and control class using pre-test and post-test design. This research involves 72 students’ as sample among second grade of SMPN 2 Kelapa Dua Kabupaten Tangerang year 2018 as population. The result of this research shows that that the students’ vocabulary who use Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL); Duolingo application improve much vocabulary than those who do not use Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL); Duolingo application.
