  • This research investigates the use of visual aids for teaching vocabulary. As stated in the title: “The use of Visual Aids in Teaching English Vocabulary an Experimental Research at Second Grade of SD Islam An - nur Kota Serang”. The research is conduct ed based on the main problem: 1 )How is students vocabulary mastery? 2 ) How is the visual aids applied in teachingvocabulary ? 3) How is the effectiveness of visual aids in teaching vocabulary? . Th is research is aimed : 1. t o know students vocabulary mastery . 2. T oknow the application of visu al aids in teaching vocabulary . 3. T o know the effectiveness of visual aids in teaching vocabulary . To answer the questions, t he writer collected data from 6 1 students, by divided them into two classes, one group as the experiment class and another one as control cl ass. The population of t he research is second grade of three classes in SD Islam An - nur. The writer take s sample two classes, class 2 A( Siti Zaenab ) as the experiment group and class 2 C( Siti Shofiah ) as a c ontrol group . During the research, the writer used quasi experimental method and the data is gathered through pre - test and post - test. Based on the result of calculation in chapter IV it shows that th e value of t 0 (t observation ) 15,27and degree of freedom (df) is 37 , the writer uses the t table to know w h et h er it is significant or not. The resul t of tt on significant 5% = 2,00 and 1%=2,65, it indicate that to 15,27 > 2,04 and 15,27 > 2,76 so the zero hypothesis is rejected and the hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is significance influence using visual aids i n teaching vocabulary.
