- It has been k nown that moti vation is very important in learning , Especially, to know the reading skill in learning English language. Motivation can be su mmed up, briefly as the student s ’ desire and ne ed to learn the dri ving force that make the students work hard, pay attention and so on . This study is intended to know Students’ Motivation in Learning Reading and their Achievement (A Correlational Study at SM K Bismillah Padarincang ). The purpose s of this research are to know how far the Students’ Motivation in Learning Reading and their Achievement . The statement above has given the writer a hypothesis that ther e is a significant correlation between Students’ Motivation in Learning Reading and their Achievement. The method that applied in this research is descriptive method and t he population in this research is the student of second grade of SM K Bismillah Padarincang and the writer took 30 students as sample. The method of collecting data, the write r uses questionnaire, interview the English teacher and some students to get some information and test as instrument of study. The quest ionnaire is to know the student s ’ Motivation, while test is to know how far the Achievement in Learning Reading. To get analysis data by using correlation formula is product Moment. The conclusion, The Student s ’ Motivation and Achievement in Reading positive correlation inference is 0,63 and for correlation formula product moment there is fair correlation or the re is signi fic ant correlation between Student s ’ Motivation a n d their Achievement in Reading. As for contribution of variable X and variable Y by using coefficient determine (CD) is gained 39,69% and the rest is gained 60,31% in influenced other factor which can be re – research.
