  • This research investigates the Improvement of simple future tense by usin g song l yrics, entitled “ Improving Students‟ Understanding on Simple Future Tense by Using Song Lyrics at first grade of SMK Pariwisata Bandulu Anyer “. T he research is conducted based on the statement problems : 1) H ow is students‟ understanding on simpl e future tense? 2) H ow is “S ong Lyrics” applied in tea ching simple future tense ? 3) How is the students ‟ improvement on simple future tense after using song lyrics? It is oriented towar d the following objectives: 1) T o know students‟ understanding on simp le future tense. 2) T o know the applicat ion of song lyrics in teaching simple future tense. 3) T o know the students‟ improvement in understanding simple future tense. To answer the question, the writer collects data from 30 students in one class, by applyi ng classroom action research method . The population is the first grade of SMK Pariwisata Bandulu A nyer year 2015/2016, while class X B are taken the as the data the sample. Since the research uses classroom action research method, the data gathered through reflection and test. Song lyrics could be improve the students‟ on understanding simple future tense, and to improve students‟ spirit, creativity, and students‟ motivation. This media also gives good stimulation to force the students to be an active participant while following learning process in the classroom. The result of the research shows that the mi nimum score is 35, the maximum score is 70 and the average score is 52,83 in cycle I. its means that the students‟ score still low. Because there are some students‟ can‟t achieve the target of KKM (Standard Criteria Minimum). In cycle I, the writer revised the first draft and found the minimum score is 70, the maximum score is 90, and the average score is 77,23. It means that there is an improvement students‟ in understanding simple future tense. Although, there are some students who are low in simple futur e tense, but the most of them are good
