  • The inclusion of History of English Development, Introduction to Literature, Cros s Cultural Understanding subjects on the Department of English Education of State Islamic University Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten curriculum cannot be separated from the culture facts that correlate to its language . This study investigates the correlat ion between English culture and its grammar. Meanwhile, t he aim of this study is to figure out whether there is the significance correlation between English culture understanding and grammar ability of sixth semester of English Education students of Islami c State University Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten or vice versa . Subsequent to this, these subjects and Advanced English subject were tested. It is obtained from the research that the „r‟ (correlation index score) is 0,148. This study show s that there is the correlation between English culture understanding and grammar ability of sixth semester of English Education students of Islamic State University Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten , yet it is very low ( can be considered no correlation) .
