  • This research investigates The Effectiveness of Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) Toward Students’ Reading Comprehension on Report Text. This research conducted based on the main problem : 1) How is the students ability in reading comprehension at SMAN 1 Baros 2) How is the effectiveness of Collaborative Strategic Reading on students’ reading comprehension through report text. The aims of this research are : 1) To explore the students’ ability in reading comprehension. 2) To explain the influence on students’ reading comprehension by using Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) SMAN 1 Baros. To answer the research questions, the researcher collects data from 60 students as a sample in two classes, one class as the control class and another class as the experimental class. By applying experimental research method. The population as much as 150 students at the second grade of SMAN 1 Baros, Serang. That consist of five classes, XI IPA 1, XI IPA 2, XI IPA3, XI IPA 4, and XI IPS. Each class generally consist of 30 students. The researcher chooses two classes as a sample while XI IPA 3 as a control class and XI IPA 2 as an experimental class. Since the research uses quasi experimental method, the data gathered through pretest and post test. The result of the research shows that the hypothesis, that the null hypothesis is rejected its shown from statistical value that significant 5 % = 2,00 and significant of 1% = 2,66 and the result of to = 6,72. So, based on calculating the data of t-test that The Effectiveness of Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) Toward Students’ Reading Comprehension on Report Text has positive effect.
