- This research designed to find out the effect of pre-questioning on reading comprehension on narrative text. The research conducted based on the main problem 1). How is the students’ skill in reading English narrative text at the second grade of SMPN 2 Bojonegara? 2) how is the effect of using pre-questioning students’ reading skill on narrative text at the second grade of SMPN 2 Bojonegara?. This research oriented to the following aims: 1) to know the students’ skill in reading English narrative text at the second grade of SMPN 2 Bojonegara. 2) to know the effect of pre-questioning on reading comprehension on narrative text at the second grade of SMPN 2 Bojonegara. The writer used quasi experiment. To answer the question, she collected the data from 35 students spread in two class, one class as the experiment class and another one as the control class, by applying experimental research method. The population is the second grade of SMPN 2 Bojonegara year 2016/2017, while class VIII A as the experimental class and class B as the control class are taken as the sample The result of the research show that the hypothesis that of t-test of both sample class, obtained thitung Amount 8,43 and ttabel amount 2,00 (8,43 > 2,00), Then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. Based on calculating the data t-test that effect of pre-questioning on reading comprehension on narrative text has positive effect.
