  • This research investigates the use of concept sentence technique in writing lesson. This research was to find out whether or not teaching writing by using concept sentence technique can improve students` writing ability, especially in in writing descriptive text. This research used one group pre-test and post-test design and quantitative research method. The instrument used in this research was tests (pre-test and post-test). This research involves 60 students’ as sample among second grade of MTs Al-Hidayah Ciomas Serang year 2017 as population. The result of this research was that the implementation of concept sentence technique in learning to write descriptive text had increased. The research finding of the last result showed that “to” that the writer got from the calculation is higher than t table both at significance level 5% and 1%, significance 5% t observation= 11.36 t table= 1.67 or t observation 11.36 >1.67 and significance 1% t observation=11.36 t table= 2.39 or t observation 11.36 >2.39. In addition, the result of observations showed that the students appeared more motivated in learning English, especially for writing material. Based on the result above, it can be concluded that concept sentence technique can be used in teaching writing descriptive text and the result of this research shows that the students’ writing descriptive text who use concept sentence technique achieve better performance than those who do not use concept sentence technique.
