Improving Students’ Speaking Skill By Using Mind Mapping Technique (Classroom Action Research at The Eighth Grade of MTs Al-Ihsan Serang)

- This Research was conducted to solve the students’ problems in speaking. This research was to observe weather teaching speaking by using mind mapping technique can improve students’ speaking skill. The methodology of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which conducted in two cycles where each cycles consisting of three meetings. The participants were students of eighth grade B of MTs Al-Ihsan Serang in 2021/2022 academic year that consist of 22 participants . The instrument to collect the data were observation, speaking test, documentation, and questionnaires. The results of the research that there is improvement of students’ speaking skill. It can be seen from the performance test in each cycle, where in pre-cycle students speaking skill got a total of 1195. In the cycle I that the total number of 1363 and at the cycle II there was an improve in students English speaking skill to 1737. In the cycle II students average score is good based on the position of speaking proficiency. Based on the result from each cycle, it can conclude that using mind mapping technique in improving students speaking skill is effective. Using mind mapping technique can build students’ confidence and increase students’ motivation in learning speaking.
