  • ABSTRACT ISOLATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF COUMARIN COMPOUND FROM EXTRACT ETHYL ACETATE TABAT BARITO (Ficus deltoideus Jack) LEAVES Oleh: Dona Juita (1010412039) Pembimbing: Dr.Suryati dan Dr. Mai Efdi Secondary metabolites of coumarin compound has been isolated from leaves Tabat Barito (Ficus deltoidues Jack). The powder of leaves extracted by maceration using hexane and ethyl acetate solvent . The ethyl acetate extract was by column chromatography using silica gel as stationary phase and a mobile phase of hexane and ethyl acetate in Step Gradient Polarity (SGP). Isolated compound has the shape of white amorphous (32.9 mg), decomposed at 1670C and test on TLC gave a blue fluorescence at λ 365 nm. Based on the UV and IR spectra of the isolated compound showed ring lactone chromophore and functional group -OH at 3412.35 cm-1, -CH stretching at 2850.08 cm-1, C=O stretching at 1708.98 cm -1, C=C stretching 1464.71 cm-1 and CO stretching at 1051.18 cm-1. Using the specific test reagent NH4OH and NaOH showed fluorescence indicating that the isolated compound such as coumarin group. The results of test antibacterial showed that the extract ethyl acetate and isolated compound, active against the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
