  • Degradation of metanil yellow dye had been done by sonolysis and photolysis methods with addition of anatase-TiO2. Ultrasonic irradiation with frequency of 47 kHz was used for sonolysis. The optimum condition for degradation of 6 mg/L metanil yellow dye by sonolysis with addition of 0,100 g anatase-TiO2 were found at pH 5, temperature 40oC and percentage degradation was 41.74 % after 300 minutes sonolysis. Photolysis method were performed using an irradiation of UV light with  = 359 nm. Degradation of 6 mg/L metanil yellow dye by photolysis with addition of 0,100 g anatase-TiO2 was optimum at pH 5 and percentage degradation was 80.99 % after 90 minutes photolysis.
