- Hepatotoxicity tests of the ethanolic extract of Blumea balsamifera (L.)DC leaves on male mice has been done. The ethanolic extract was given intra peritoneally (i.p.) once a day at the doses of 2;2,5;3,2;4 g/Kg of the body weight. Vehicel Na-CMC 1% was to the control mice. Some parameters were observed after 14 days i. e the changing colour and texture of the liver, the percentage damage of central vein of the liver, the condition of hepatic cell, sitoplasm, nucleus, and sinusoids of liver. The results showed the changing of colour and texture of the liver. Central vein of male mice which was given the extract was damaged 20,19%;30,89%;55,89%;89,82% successively as significant at given doses. Hepatic cells, sitplasm, nucleus and sinusoid of the liver were damaged. The damaged of proximal part of the liver was higher as compared to the midle and distal part.
