  • Study on detection and identification of Listeria spp. from ground beef in Padang city has been carried out. Sample was kept for 24 hours, 48 hours and 96 hours in freezer at temperature -10oC then detected based on modification USDA method and compared with the raw ground beef without kept at room temperature. The enrichment used Fraser Broth and homogenat process rvas mixed in blender. One Ose homogenate scratched onto Palcam Agar. The bluish-green single colony which has black haloes was taken and identified. The result indicate that Listeria spp. was found in all samples of n. 2 and n. 3 which were kept for 24 hours, 48 hours, 96 hours, and on raw ground beef without kept.
