- An antidandruff shampoo containing ethyl p-methoxycinnamate isolated from the rhizome of Kaempferia galanga L was formulated in a Iiquid cream dosage form. Ethyl p-methoxycinnamate was used at variotrs concerttrations 0.3; 0.5; 1.0; 1.5 ancl 2.0% respectively. The antidandruff shampoo was evaluated with respect to its description (consistency, odo, and color), pH, homogeneity, rheology, wetting properties, foaming formation, skin irritation test and microbiological assay by using edible seaweed diffusion method towards Candida albicans and Tricophyton mentagophytes. The results showed that the antidandruff shampoo containing 2.0% ethyl p-methoxycinnamate was the best formula. keywords : Ethyl p-methoxycinnamate, Kaempferia galanga, liquid cream dosage form
