- A solid dispersion og Glibenclamide were prepared by solvent evaporation method using polyvinyl pyrrolidine K-30 as dispersion carrier. The solid dispersion was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction analysis, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and dissolution rate test. The X-ray diffraction pateern indicated that the dispersion had an amorphous nature as a compared to the crystalline drug. The melting endothermic peak of glibenclamide was eliminated in the DSC thermogram of dispersions. The solid dispersions prepared ini this study were found to have higher dissolution rates compared to intact glibenclamide. Keywords : system dispersi padat, glibenklamida, Polivinil Pirolidin K-30
